What Working Out Has Done For Me and My Riding as of March 2014

What working on my fitness and health has done for my riding

I have always considered myself a “fit” person. I have rode me bike ever since I could remember. Racing from the age of 12 to 20, then turning to free style full time. I have been competing as a professional athlete since 2006 so of course I was “fit person” right? So I thought. It wasn’t until I decided to really work at it that I found out how truly out of shape I really was. I started with Focus T25, this amazing program helped me to lose 30 pounds. Now I am about to finishing P90X3. So far I have lost a total of 50 pounds and gained muscle and muscle tone. I am more fit and healthier now then I was when I was 18. I ride with other riders up to 10 years younger then I am however, I ride harder and longer then most of them. My endurance on my bike is more then it has ever been. My tricks come easier to me, probably from the less weight I am throwing around and more muscle to do it with. Also getting fit has help my proprioception like no other. Any athlete will tell you that proprioception is important in their sport. What many people don't know is how important your proprioception is in everyday life. You would be amazed how many people lack this and could benefit from it. Fitness has changed my life and riding life for the better. I cant wait to continue on my journey to see what other benefits emerge.
Here I am filming in 2012, I was riding good but not great by any means!
This is my transformations so far.

This is a trip in fall of 2013, my first trip with a taste for being lighter on my bike, I knew the second I started riding on this trip that I was doing the right thing to make me a better rider and on my way to being as healthy as I should have been the whole time.

Vegas trip on my way home from shows in Cali, January of 2014

This was my first competition of 2014 and after only being able to ride a total of 5 or 6 times in 4 months I won the MTB portion and got 2nd in BMX, I am super excited to see what I will accomplish when I can be on my bike consistently!!!!
